Farah Talib Aziz launched her lawn collection in 2015 in collaboration with Lakhani and it was a huge success. People went crazy over her designs last year because they were actually unique and looked very elegant. I couldn’t get my hands on the summer collection last year but I did buy one from their Eid collection and it was equally amazing. Every time I wear my Farah Talibjoda (dress) everyone compliments me.
This year FTA collection came out in collaboration with Crimson. The fabric was slightly disappointing. It is soft but it isn’t as appealing as some of the other brands’ fabric is; like Sapphire, Lakhani, Orient, House of Ittehad etc. These are some big textile companies running successfully because of their actual fabric but Crimson is not at all the same as these. There is some issue with the fabric which is hard to explain at this point. I would definitely come back with an update here if I end up liking it or not liking it. I’ll use the dress a couple of times, wash it and will be able to give my final verdict only then. Nothing before that!
Coming onto the prints now, they were also not as amazing as they were last year. There was some repetition this year, which only someone who has her last year’s summer collection can tell better. I personally feel she played with almost the same designs and color palettes as last year. The theme this year was also floral with hints of ancient buildings and trees etc. The embroidered patches are of such poor quality that they look equally rough from both the sides. You know how an embroidered patch is rough from one side and smooth from the side that shows, but the patches I got are so rough that they almost look unfinished from both the sides. I am totally disappointed at the embroidery. Prices are also on the higher end but the quality is not at par with the prices charged.
Here is a preview of her collection this year.
